Thursday morning robbery at knifepoint

Jefferson City police are looking for a suspect in a Thursday morning robbery.

According to police reports, at approximately 9:10 a.m., a heavy set black male, wearing all black clothing and armed with a knife, approached a 36-year-old woman as she left Missouri Insurance Associates, 316 Jackson St.

Fort Hood covers 340 square miles in Texas and is the largest active duty armored post in the United States Armed Services.

He put the knife to the woman's throat and took the victim's car keys.

He eventually did get away with the car, a silver Pontiac G-6, Missouri license WC6K7D, and drove away in an unknown direction.

The suspect also got away with the victim's purse.

The victim was from the Rocky Mount area so, in addition to searching in Jefferson City, police notified authorities in the Rocky Mount area also to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

The victim was unharmed.
