Kezer asks state to block Hulshof law license

Joshua Kezer announced Tuesday he sent a letter last week to the state’s Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel (OCDC), “requesting that (Kenny Hulshof) be stripped of his law license in this state and any other state. And, even though the state of Missouri can only address this state, I want to be clear — in case he lost his law license in this state, I will be pursuing his license in any other state.”

Kezer served 16 years of a 60-year prison sentence, imposed after a Scott County jury convicted him of second-degree murder for the 1992 killing of Angela Mischelle Lawless, beaten and then shot three times and left in her still-running car along Interstate 55 near the Benton exit ramp (between Cape Girardeau and Sikeston) in southeast Missouri.

Hulshof, then an assistant attorney general and later a U.S. congressman, helped prosecute the state’s case against Kezer. His conviction later was overturned by a court ruling finding clear and convincing evidence undermining the state's case.

I hope they do take away his license. In fact, I wish they would take away his freedom as well and lock him up in prison for what he had done. Prosecutors such as Hulshoff appear to be more concerned about their political ambitions and winning a court case at all costs than they do about an innocent person's life. Good luck Mr. Kezer. I hope you find retribution for the crimes and misdeeds committed against you and your family.
