Sisterhood program helps girls in middle, high school

A gift without occasion, a common interest discovered across unexpected demographics, a friendly smile in the hallway — Girlfriend to Girlfriend, Sister to Sister (GS2) is about building relationships.

Freshman Abigail Swanigan and seventh-grader Grace Harris at Lighthouse Preparatory Academy in Jefferson City were both new to the school of about 75 this year.

The girls-only, mentor-like program seemed like a good way to get involved.
