PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Shane Doan scored an overtime power-play goal and the Phoenix Coyotes won their eighth straight game by beating the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Doan slapped a shot past Sergei Bobrovsky at 2:41 of overtime after Philadelphia's Claude Giroux tied it with 1:13 left in regulation.
Doan was playing in his 1,098th game with the Winnipeg/Phoenix franchise, tying him with Teppo Numminen for first on the list.
Taylor Pyatt put Phoenix up 2-1 with 9:30 left in the third.
The Flyers lost for just the third time in nine games and fell to 16-6 since Jan. 1.
Rangers 4, Hurricanes 3, SO
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Wojtek Wolski scored the tying goal with 1:50 left in regulation and then netted the only goal in the shootout to rally the New York Rangers past Carolina.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped all three shootout attempts by Carolina, which squandered a 43-save night by Cam Ward and missed a chance to tie New York for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
Lundqvist stopped 30 shots through overtime for the Rangers, who were 2-7-1 in their previous 10. He then denied Jeff Skinner, Jussi Jokinen and Sergei Samsonov in the shootout.
Erik Christensen and Mats Zucccarello missed their attempts before Wolski won it for New York.
Jokinen scored two third-period goals to give Carolina its first lead, but Wolski tied it late.
Maple Leafs 2, Islanders 1
TORONTO (AP) - Phil Kessel's goal with less than five minutes to play snapped a tie and gave Toronto a win over the New York Islanders.
Toronto has gone 2-0-1 in its last three games despite scoring just four goals, largely because of the solid play of James Reimer. The rookie goalie made 28 saves against the Islanders, denying Jack Hillen with his glove just before Kessel netted the winner.
Clarke MacArthur had the other goal for Toronto, 7-2-2 since the All-Star break.
Matt Moulson scored for the Islanders, giving him four goals in two days.
Blue Jackets 4, Predators 0
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Steve Mason made 20 saves for his 18th NHL shutout and Rick Nash scored two of Columbus' four third-period goals against Nashville.
Nash, Matt Calvert and Antoine Vermette scored in a 8:38 span early in the third to help the Blue Jackets move within two points of eighth place in the Western Conference.
Fedor Tyutin and Kris Russell each added two assists for Columbus, 10-3-3 in its past 16 games and 7-1-2 against Nashville at home in the past 10 meetings. Mason has shut out the Predators twice this season.
Nashville, which entered the night as the fifth-place team in the West, has lost three of four after winning three of four.
Sharks 4, Red Wings 3
DETROIT (AP) - Joe Thornton scored his 300th career goal, Devin Setoguchi had two and San Jose held on to beat Detroit.
Henrik Zetterberg scored a power-play goal with 1:51 left to pull the Red Wings within a goal, but they couldn't beat Antti Niemi again to force overtime.
Ryane Clowe scored on a breakaway midway through the game and Niemi made 35 saves for the Sharks, who have won four straight and 13 of 16.
Detroit's Danny Cleary scored game-tying goals early in the second and at 14:42 of the period.
Jimmy Howard stopped 39 shots for the Red Wings, who had won a season-high five consecutive games.
Devils 1, Stars 0
DALLAS (AP) - Nick Palmieri scored a power-play goal with 5:37 left and Johan Hedberg stopped 19 shots for his 17th NHL shutout as New Jersey extended its season-high winning streak to eight by beating slumping Dallas.
With newly acquired Dallas defenseman Alex Goligoski in the penalty box, Ilya Kovalchuk mis-hit a shot from the left point, but Palmieri was set up to the right of the net and he deflected the puck past Kari Lehtonen for his sixth goal.
The assist gave Kovalchuk an 11-game point streak.
The surging Devils are 16-1-2 in their last 19 to move closer to playoff contention in the Eastern Conference.
It was Hedberg's second 1-0 victory in three games.
Wild 4, Oilers 1
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Pierre-Marc Bouchard's spin-o-rama tally highlighted a three-goal, third-period outburst for Minnesota in a victory over Edmonton.
Martin Havlat, Kyle Brodziak and Jared Spurgeon also scored for Minnesota, which has beaten Edmonton 15 straight times at home. That ties the Nashville Predators' home dominance of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the longest current streak in the NHL, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Niklas Backstrom stopped 20 shots to improve his home record against Edmonton to 14-0, the longest current home streak by a goalie against one team. He is 17-2-1 overall against the Oilers.
Kurtis Foster scored for Edmonton, which lost for the first time in four games.
Avalanche 4, Blues 3
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Erik Johnson scored the go-ahead goal against St. Louis, which traded him three days earlier, and Colorado broke a 10-game losing streak.
Johnson, traded to Colorado as part of a four-player trade on Saturday, scored with 5:06 left to break a 2-2 tie.
Paul Stastny, Milan Hedjuk and David Jones also scored for Colorado. The Avalanche had been outscored 42-14 during the 0-9-1 skid.
Peter Budaj made 42 saves for his fifth straight win over St. Louis. The Avalanche earned their seventh consecutive victory against the Blues.
Bruins 3, Flames 1
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Milan Lucic scored two goals and Tim Thomas made 28 saves as Boston beat Calgary.
Brad Marchand had the other goal for the Bruins. Curtis Glencross had the Flames' lone tally.
Marchand made it 2-0 for Boston at 5:55 of the third period. Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff kicked out Patrice Bergeron's shot from the wing straight to Marchand, who put his 19th goal into the open net.
After Glencross broke Thomas' shutout bid with 2:33 left off a nice pass from Jarome Iginla on a power play, Lucic clinched the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Thomas played for the first time in a week after getting a two-game rest from Bruins coach Claude Julien. The 36-year-old goalie came in having lost consecutive games for the first time this season.
Canadiens 3, Canucks 2
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - David Desharnais and Brian Gionta scored 67 seconds apart early in the first period, Carey Price made 12 of his 37 saves in the third, and Montreal beat Vancouver.
Andrei Kostitsyn ended a 12-game goal drought, despite being demoted to the fourth line, as Montreal won in Vancouver for the first time in over a decade.
Mikael Samuelsson and Henrik Sedin scored power-play goals, and Roberto Luongo made 22 saves as the Canucks lost at home in regulation for the fifth time this season (21-5-5). Vancouver's lead atop the NHL is down to one point over Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia, and five ahead of Detroit in the West.
It was the Canadiens' fifth win in 30 games in Western Canada. They went 0-2 in Alberta against Edmonton and Calgary on this trip, losing by a combined score of 8-1.
