It's not a common sight at this time of year, but it's a welcome one.

Thanks to a great start, the Jefferson City Jays enjoyed a running clock for almost all of the fourth quarter Tuesday night while ripping the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers 57-29 in the semifinals of the Class 5 District 9 Tournament.

The mercy rule came into effect just six seconds into the final period.
