Elementary school counselor Ruthie Eichholz characterizes her job as “the best of both worlds, because I get to teach and help kids.”

The educator at Pioneer Trail wears other hats as well. Professionally, she also is coordinator for all elementary school counselors in the Jefferson City School District; at home, she is a wife and mother of three daughters.

Her greatest reward is “when you see children able to solve their own problems and know you have helped them build a lifelong skill.”
