The Home Builders Association 2011 Home Show wrapped up Sunday afternoon after a weekend with a special emphasis on "green' homes.

On one end of this weekend's home show at the Firley YMCA, Ken Thoenen was touting recycled glass that's making its way to home countertops.

On the other side of the building, Matt Belcher, another homebuilder, was excited to talk about the successes of a groundbreaking local home rebuilding project that's environmentally friendly.

The trend in "green" homebuilding means different things to different people. But vendors at the Home Builders Association of Central Missouri's annual home show agreed on one thing: It's becoming more practical and affordable to the average homeowner.
