Joe Crede apparently will not play for the Colorado Rockies after all.
According to a message posted recently on the team's Twitter site, "INF Joe Crede has decided not to report to Rockies camp next week when position players report to SaltRiverFields."
Crede, 32, signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies in January, which included an invitation to spring training.
The former Fatima High School standout third baseman missed the 2010 season following back surgery.
