Vehicle strikes, injures two pedestrians

Jefferson City Police were called shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday to the 3300 block of Country Club Drive for an injury accident at that location involving a vehicle and two pedestrians.
Officers arrived on scene and found that the driver of the vehicle, a 42 year old female Jefferson City resident, had been traveling eastbound in the 3300 block of Country Club when her vehicle struck two pedestrians who were walking eastbound in that same location.
The first pedestrian, a 24 year old female Jefferson City resident, suffered minor injuries. The second pedestrian, a 26 year old female Jefferson City resident, suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, then taken to Columbia for further treatment of those injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time. No further information was being released at this time.
