United Way honors compassion of volunteers

The United Way of Central Missouri celebrated 2010 and looked forward to 2011 during its annual meeting Friday at Capitol Plaza Hotel.

The event serves as an avenue for new board and committee members to be named as well as appreciation to be expressed for the year’s members and volunteers to be recognized.

Ann Bax, executive director of the United Way of Central Missouri, presented awards to two individuals, Debbie Hamler and Mark Dumas.

Hamler, executive director of the Special Learning Center, was given the Ruth C. Meloy Award for Distinguished Service.
