The Falcons have their sights on getting 10 wrestlers to the Class 1 State Championships, which begin Thursday at Mizzou Arena. They’ll get that chance tonight when the Class 1 District 2 Tournament kicks off at Versailles. The top four wrestlers in each weight class qualify for the state tournament.

“We’ve got three or four teams there that are going to get seven or eight guys to qualify (for state),” Blair Oaks coach Tim Karsten said. “We hope to be in that or maybe a little bit better.

“It all depends on who wrestles up to their seeds and surpasses that.

“I think we’re capable of that.”
