Committee hears proposed Missouri election law changes

If lawmakers and Missouri voters agree, it will become more difficult to circulate initiative petitions for law changes or constitutional amendments.

Missouri's current constitution says people must gather a minimum number of signatures in each of at least two-thirds of the state's congressional districts.

Sen. Jolie Justus, D-Kansas City, has proposed an amendment that would require the minimum number of petition signatures be gathered in all of the congressional districts.
