Dear Editor:
Proponents of Proposition B tell us that animal agriculture was not the target of the legislation approved by voters in November. A closer look at Prop. B reveals cause for concern.
According to Prop. B, ""Pet means any domesticated animal normally maintained in or near the household of the owner thereof."
How long before this definition comes to include cattle and pigs? How long before PETA/HSUS backs legislation in Missouri that builds upon Prop B to attack animal agriculture?
Proposition B is a slippery slope, and for the sake of our economy and livelihood, needs to be fixed.
