Lohan's attorney denies she stole necklace

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lindsay Lohan’s attorney is denying allegations that the actress stole a $2,500 necklace.

Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley said in a statement Saturday that she and Lohan will fight the case if charges are filed against the 24-year-old.

Los Angeles police investigated whether Lohan took the necklace without permission from a jewelry store last month and presented potential evidence to prosecutors on Wednesday.

If charges are filed, it would be another blow for the “Mean Girls” star, who has struggled to complete the terms of her probation on a 2007 drunken driving case.
