Crews enter fifth day of clearing roads

Road crews in Cole County and Jefferson City plan to work today as efforts to clear record amounts of snowfall continue.

Jefferson City Parking and Streets Director Britt Smith said city crews spent Friday trying to widen areas while making as small an impact as possible on driveways that had been shoveled out.

"It's a Catch-22 situation," he said.

Smith said they started the snow hauling downtown Friday and got four blocks done, including areas around the Missouri River Regional Library and the Cole County Courthouse.
