COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Laurin Mincy scored a career-high 25 points, Alyssa Thomas had 23, and No. 5 Maryland used a strong second half to defeat previously unbeaten and 19th-ranked Delaware 85-76 on Thursday night.
The Terrapins (13-0) trailed 44-41 before Mincy scored nine points in a 15-2 run that put Maryland ahead by 10 with 13:51 left. After the Blue Hens closed to 56-50, Anjale Barrett contributed the final seven points to a 9-2 spurt that upped the margin to 13.
Barrett had 16 points and eight assists, and Mincy scored 18 in the second half to help Maryland win the title game of the two-day Terrapin Classic.
Elena Delle Donne scored 32 for the Blue Hens (10-1), who were seeking to improve on the best start in school history. Delaware is 0-10 all-time against Maryland and 3-28 versus ranked opponents.
No. 2 CONNECTICUT 93, FAIRFIELD 40
STORRS, Conn. (AP) - Tiffany Hayes scored 23 points and Stefanie Dolson added 22 points as Connecticut routed Fairfield.
Dolson made 11 of her 13 shots from the floor for the Huskies (11-1), while Hayes connected on 8-of-11. As a team UConn made 59 percent of its shots.
Desiree Pina scored 12 points to lead the Stags (7-4), who had won four straight games prior to Thursday.
No. 12 MIAMI 91, VCU 61
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Morgan Stroman scored 23 points to lead Miami to a victory over Virginia Commonwealth in the championship game of the Miami Holiday Classic.
The Hurricanes (11-2) used their pressure defense to go on a 22-3 run during a 5:31 span in the first half. Miami scored 16 unanswered points in the spurt, capped by Stefanie Yderstrom's jumper that gave the Hurricanes a 40-16 lead with 4:59 remaining.
Miami had 14 steals and scored 16 points off Virginia Commonwealth turnovers in the first half and led 49-30 at halftime.
Yderstrom finished with 20 points and Shenise Johnson had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Hurricanes, who won their 32nd consecutive home game.
Courtney Hurt had 25 points and 16 rebounds for the Rams (8-4).
No. 15 GEORGETOWN 65, VERMONT 53
HANOVER, N.H. (AP) - Sugar Rodgers tied her career-high with 34 points and Georgetown ran its winning streak to 10 games with a victory over Vermont.
The Hoyas (11-2) led by seven at the half and by as many as 18 points midway through the second half before Vermont (6-6) cut it to nine with just over two minutes remaining.
Rodgers, the only Georgetown player to reach double figures, scored her team's final eight points and 10 of the last 11 as the Hoyas won the opening game of the 35th annual Blue Sky Classic, the longest consecutive running women's college basketball tournament in the nation.
Kayla Burchill made six 3-pointers and scored 20 points for Vermont (6-6). Lauren Buschmann added 13 points for the Catamounts, who have lost their last five.
No. 18 WISCONSIN-GREEN BAY 80, ILLINOIS-CHICAGO 63
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Sarah Eichler scored a career high 19 points and Julie Wojta had 14 points and 15 rebounds for Wisconsin-Green Bay in a victory over Illinois-Chicago in both schools' Horizon League opener.
Adrian Ritchie added 18 points for Green Bay (11-0).
Jasmine Bailey led Illinois-Chicago (7-5) with 18 points, but had 10 turnovers for the Flames.
No. 24 NORTH CAROLINA 74, SAVANNAH STATE 21
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Brittany Rountree scored 15 points to lead North Carolina to a rout of Savannah State.
The 21 points were the fewest allowed by the Tar Heels (9-2), who had all three of their veteran post players available for the first time this season.
Jasmine Kirkland led Savannah State (5-8) with eight points.
Waltiea Rolle, a 6-foot-6 junior, played for the Tar Heels for the first time this season after the birth of her child in early November. She had four points and two rebounds in six minutes.
No. 25 VANDERBILT 81, WESTERN CAROLINA 36
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Christina Foggie scored a career-high 27 points and Kady Schrann added a career-best 20 to lead Vanderbilt to a victory over Western Carolina.
Foggie hit five 3-pointers and Schrann sank four 3s for the Commodores (12-1) in their final non-conference game of the season. Tiffany Clarke chipped in with 12 points and had seven rebounds.
Diamond Hunnicutt was the top scorer for the Catamounts (4-8), who lost their sixth straight game.
