After a lukewarm start to the season, the California Pintos are going to be feeling the heat.
The Class 3 Pintos (4-4) take it up a notch by playing the Class 4 Moberly Spartans (5-2) at 2:20 p.m. today in the Missouri National Guard Shootout at Fleming Fieldhouse.
California opened the season as the No. 1 seed in the Eugene Invitational, but limped to a fourth-place finish with a victory over St. Elizabeth and losses to Eugene and Eldon.
