Christmas holiday closings
Saturday, December 24, 2011
Because of Sunday’s Christmas Day holiday, all federal, state, county and municipal offices will be closed Monday, except for law enforcement and emergency services.
The State Archives, 600 W. Main St., will be closed today and Monday.
The U.S. Postal Service will operate with normal hours today — with both Jefferson City post offices open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. — and on a holiday schedule Monday, with no regular mail deliveries or collections. However, Express Mail will be delivered as required.
Jefftran buses won’t run Monday, and will resume operations Tuesday.
The Missouri River, Daniel Boone and Heartland Regional libraries all will be closed today, Sunday and Monday, reopening Tuesday.
Lincoln University will be closed through Jan. 2, and will reopen on Jan. 3.
Because the holiday is Sunday, there will be no change to Allied Waste’s collection schedule, with trash and recycling pickups occurring on the normally scheduled days throughout Jefferson City.
No Monday publication
There will be no Monday issue of the News Tribune newspaper and e-Edition, although NewsTribune.com will be updated as warranted, and our offices will be closed Monday. Normal newspaper publication and office hours resume Tuesday.
