Mid-Missouri's Food Bank eases the pang of hunger in 32 counties

With poverty on the rise and affecting as many as one in two Americans, social service agencies are stretching their dollars as much as they can.

How do large agencies like the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri distribute food to the 135 partner agencies in 32 counties in 18,000 square miles?

Executive Director Peggy Kirkpatrick said the agency operates multiple programs from its headquarters in Columbia.

The first is warehousing distribution based in the Columbia center. They also have a storehouse in Jefferson City.
