Billikens win fifth straight

Saint Louis tops Arkansas State

ST. LOUIS - Dwayne Evans had 18 points and nine rebounds as Saint Louis beat Arkansas State 70-46 on Thursday for its fifth straight victory.

Brian Conklin added 12 points for the Billikens (11-1), who shot 54 percent from the field, hit 9-of-21 3-pointers and held a 43-18 advantage on points in the paint. Saint Louis turned the ball over just eight times.

Trey Finn had 12 points, all in the second half, and Malcoln Kirkland added 10 for Arkansas State (6-7). The Red Wolves struggled with their shooting, hitting just 34 percent from the field.

Saint Louis led 36-20 at halftime, then began the second half with a 9-0 run that was capped by Rob Loe's 3-pointer. Arkansas State got within 17 points just once in the final period, when Finn hit a 3-pointer to move the Red Wolves within 49-32.
