Missouri receiver receives an early Christmas present

COLUMBIA, Mo. - When it was announced Missouri would play in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La., it was a tossup who was more excited: Tiger receiver L'Damian Washington, or his three brothers.

Christmas came early for the Shreveport native and his family.

For Washington, getting to play football in front of his friends and family for the first time since high school is extra special.

Washington and his brothers (two older, one younger) had anything but a normal childhood. Their dad was gunned down and killed when Washington was a child. When Washington was in high school, his mother collapsed following one of his games and died a short time later.

The four brothers were left to raise each other. This Christmas, they will be together.
