United Tech sees 2012 revenue lagging estimates

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - The chief executive of United Technologies Corp. says the aerospace and building systems manufacturer expects its acquisition of Goodrich Corp. to boost its revenue 10 percent next year but not help its profit until 2013.

Louis Chenevert, CEO of the parent corporation of Sikorsky Aircraft, Otis elevator and other companies, told analysts in New York Thursday that United Technologies expects 2012 earnings of $5.80 to $6 per share and revenue of $59 billion to $60 billion, up 3 percent from 2011.

Including Goodrich, its revenue would be $64 billion. Per-share earnings would be $5.30 to $5.50.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect per-share earnings of $5.89 and revenue of $62.88 billion.

Chenevert said the acquisition will be tough to absorb and is not expected to add to profit until 2013.
