Minor injuries in Jefferson City crash

Two Iowa teenagers in a car that overturned during a Wednesday night crash in Jefferson City suffered only minor injuries.

Police report the driver lost control of the car on wet pavement in a curve on Missouri 179, just south of Route C. The vehicle, which was traveling southbound, struck the center median of the highway, ran off the right side of the road, went down an embankment and overturned.

The driver was identified as Jordyn Salke, 17, of West Des Moines, Iowa. Elizabeth Kesco, 17, also of West Des Moines, was a passenger in the vehicle. Both were wearing seat belts, police said.

Kesco was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Police transported Salke to the hospital. Both were treated and released.
