Four Arrested in JC Drug Bust

On Tuesday, a search warrant was served in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street based on an ongoing narcotics investigation by Jefferson City Police Department Narcotics Detectives.

As a result of the search warrant, over five (5) ounces of marijuana were seized, which had been packaged for sale. Other items seized included various narcotics packaging and distribution materials and two handguns, one of which was stolen in Jefferson City. Four suspects were arrested for charges as follows:

1) A 28 year old Jefferson City male for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful use of a firearm, and Felon in possession of a weapon.

2) A 28 year old Jefferson City female for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

3) A 38 year old Jefferson City male for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful use of a firearm, and receiving stolen property (one of the handguns)

4) A 29 year old Jefferson City male for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

The two weapons recovered were a stolen 9mm handgun, and a .380 semi-automatic pistol.

Three (3) children were present at the time of the search warrant, and they were turned over to a relative living nearby.

All were taken to Cole County Jail and are currently in custody pending charges.

Not one of the people charged in this raid is a teenager. So even though some of local teens are a problem, rarely are they involved in this type of trouble. Just a little something for us to remember when we're thinking and commenting on who is causing the problems in our community. Also these recently arrested trouble makers are well known by their neighbor's, so somebody knew and knows the type of BS they are into. So now ask yourself. Is this the type neighbor I want living next door? If the answer is "yes", then sooner or later the Cops are gonna be knocking on your door too. Because only someone involved in similar illegal activity would let this stuff go on unreported next to their family. If the answer is "no" and your afraid of retaliation for reporting these POS's...then use the Jeff City 1-800-SNITCH line. Ya don't have to leave your name to report criminals and criminal activity. If you're not afraid of retaliation...then good. Don't get directly involved and confront these folks. Simply let the cops know what's going on so they can do their job. It's gonna take some time, but those of us who are tired of the drug/crime stuff can make a difference. For those who say Weed isn't that bad....ya know what, right now it's illegal and therefore whoever is possessing, using, buying, selling or giving away Weed is committing a crime. Also we know that DOPE and GUNS, especially illegal guns are like ALCOHOL and DRIVING A CAR. It's only a matter of time before the combination of the two get somebody killed. I say good job for the Cops and it is my hope they keep the pressure on!
