2012 priorities set for Jefferson City Parks

Bill Lockwood has his “marching orders” for the coming year.

They include continuing the development of plans for the much-discussed Multipurpose Recreation Building, working on riverfront development plans, greenway extensions and completion of a number of facility rehabilitation and improvement projects.

Whatever happend to common maintenance?

Paint the equipment and buildings, Repair the cracked sidewalks, broken picnic tables and playground equipment. Mow the weeds, Get rid of the moles. Plant grass seed where there is mud. Trim the brush. Clean up the goose droppings. Replant all the dead trees.

Don't build anything new until you can start maintaining the existing stuff.
