Coroner names 3 of 5 killed in Vegas chopper crash

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Medical examiners in Las Vegas are confirming the names of three of the five people killed in a sightseeing helicopter crash near Lake Mead.

Clark County Coroner Michael Murphy said Saturday that relatives must be notified before he can release the names of the final two victims, a couple from New Delhi, India.

Murphy confirmed the names of pilot Landon Nield of Las Vegas and tourists Delwin and Tamara Chapman of Utica, Kan., who family members say were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.

The fatal crash happened in rocky and rugged terrain Wednesday about 12 miles east of Las Vegas.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators plan to spend more time Sunday at the scene and reviewing records of the ill-fated AS350BS helicopter operated by Sundance Helicopters of Las Vegas.
