U.S. 54 open following crash cleanup

U.S. 54 near Brown Road south of Brazito was opened around 5:20 a.m. today following some temporary closures due to a traffic accident. Crews have finished their work there.

Motorists heading southbound will experience temporary closings of U.S. 54 south of Jefferson City early this morning (Saturday).

The first closure (impacting what are labeled the westbound lanes of the divided highway, heading toward Eldon) was around 3:45 a.m. and was expected to last several minutes.

The closings are due to a vehicle wreck on 54 south of Brazito near Brown Road which occurred early today. Crews in the area are working on power lines that needed attention after a pole was damaged. They will be closing the highway for brief times whenever needed to do the work safely.
