Police, sheriff tackle heroin problem
Thursday, December 8, 2011
Two local law enforcement agencies are teaming up to combat what appears to be an increase in heroin/opiate overdoses.
The Jefferson City Police Department and Cole County Sheriff’s Department are working together to gather the factual data and determine what the community can do to help combat this trend.
“We view this effort much like what we do through community policing,” said Jefferson City Police Capt. Doug Shoemaker.
