Helias, Blair Oaks to renew basketball rivalry in Classic

As usual, there’s an abundance of talented teams scheduled for the Mike Kehoe Great 8 Classic.

But it’s a local first-round matchup that should garner the spotlight on the tournament’s opening night when the Helias Crusaders meet the Blair Oaks Falcons on Dec. 28.

It’s been more than a decade since the two boys programs met on the basketball court.

For the Jefferson City Jays, three games in three days will provide a good cram session under new head coach Blair Thompson.
