CHESTERFIELD - The Marquette Mustangs defeated the Jefferson City Jays 61-47 on Thursday night.
Marquette led 18-14 after one quarter and 32-31 at intermission. The Mustangs took a 48-41 advantage into the final period.
Jefferson City (0-1) will play Kirkwood at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Norm Stewart Classic at Columbia College.
