Yeah, a trolley will bring thousands of high-wage, high-demand jobs to Jefferson City. We can't get 2 or three of them fast enough.

Is anybody out there? Is anybody out there? Truly the designers of this "stunt" must be living on another planet. Look..I know I've called for innovative ideas to help boost the living and economic situation...but is this idea for real? Are you really with an Entertainment District? Ok...where do you propose this area be located....surely not in the area currently referred to as "down town"? Ya know right near the Capital, Govr's Mansion, Mikes Corner Pocket or the Jail? Who are the intended clients the politicians, lawyers and local shop owners? Guess I'd be for something like an Entertainment Area...."if" it were located somewhere other than this area where a different Bar, Pub, Pool Hall or so called Juice Bar open and close with regularity.

Back to the drawing board folks and please think this stuff through before sending it to the press...your not making anything better...in fact when I see stuff like this. It makes me cringe even more. Surely amongst these Consultants, local politicians, business leaders and private citizens a feasible, realistic idea for improving this area can be revealed?

Wow: Mike's Corner Pocket has closed. A very nice sports bar with over 30 flat screens, J. Pfenney's, has opened in its former location. You might try it.

The only juice bar I've ever heard of in this area was actually on the west end of town (just outside the city limits) in a residential neighborhood, not downtown. Besides, based on the information in the article, downtown is not the location they are proposing.

If these ideas make you cringe, perhaps you should generously give everyone the benefit of your wisdom and join the group working on this.

I can see the Trolley as being a nice place for the street people to ride. Of course it will not be maintained and it will become torn up, dirty, and rattlely just like the city busses. It will run around otherwise empty 24/7, burning expensive diesel and spewing fumes all over town.

The problem isn't that there isn't any transportation. The problem is that there isn't anything else to do in this town except go to bars and get drunk. Also, the existing jobs are so very low-paying due to state government low wages holding the region's wages down. People are struggling to keep up and pay their utilities, gasoline, taxes, groceries, prescriptions, and doctor bills, and yet the goofballs at City Hall are fiddling and discussing fantasy spending like trolleys, boat rides, $15 million dollar bicycle bridges, mud tunnels, and convention centers when the current occupancy rate is around 30% for existing hotels.

Wake up, council!

I hate wasting money as well. But the time has come that we must do something. State gov is downsizing and guess what, Scholastic the 2 nd largest employer is going to face an uncertain future as more people switch to Kindle's and away from books. The trolley is a nice idea- imagine coming out of Arris pizza and hoping on to have a drink at Prison Brews. While it is not the solution, I think it is a step forward to a better quaility of life. Besides, the busses are empty all over town. Why not try something different.

Just wondering who's going to pay for these grand ideas. Another half cent sales tax added to the existing sales taxes and the 10 cent oil cartel tax the JC folks pay would probably drive away a substantial amount of business. Many JC and area residents haven't seen any income increases for years, yet taxes and prices keep rising. There comes a time when leaders need to decide between what is wanted and what is needed.
