Your Opinion: Greenway markers praised

Dear Editor:

When I arrived at the Greenway’s Dunklin Street trail head (Dunklin and Missouri) for my walk after work recently, I stopped dead in my tracks when I stood at the Greenway entrance. There, in all its beauty, was a freshly painted one-fourth mile marker.

I was elated, because every one-fourth of a mile, this green color painted marker reminds me of how far I’ve walked. The Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department has done a fantastic job in re-applying these new and fresh markers for us all to enjoy when using the Greenway system.

Getting healthy is hard work, but reaching and then passing each one-fourth mile marker is visually appealing and satisfying. Thank you Jefferson City for making it easier to track how far we’ve walked, run, or biked on the Greenway.
