Rollover crash in SE Missouri kills 3

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A rollover accident on a southeastern Missouri highway has left three Illinois residents dead.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Friday in Perry County when the driver of a 2007 Ford Mustang tried to avoid an animal on Missouri 51. The car went off the highway and overturned. All four people in the car were thrown out.

The patrol identified those killed as the driver, 20-year-old Alycia Dickey, of Marissa, Ill.; and two passengers, 20-year-old Joshua Smith, also of Marissa, and 21-year-old Cody Lailer of Chester, Ill.

A 28-year-old man in the car was taken to a St. Louis hospital with what the patrol called serious injuries.
