Cole County property tax levy lowered

Conservative budgeting cited for third straight reduction

For the third year in a row, the Cole County Commission reduced the property tax levy for the county general fund.

On Thursday, commissioners approved a rate of 11.51 cents for each $100 of assessed property value.

The 2010 rate was 11.76 cents.
