The Cole County Commission has agreed to allow the sheriff's department to transfer money from the department's contingency fund to cover fuel expenses for the rest of the year.
During a commission meeting Wednesday, Chief Deputy Capt. John Wheeler said the department believes it would take $71,000 to meet their needs, bringing their total fuel budget for 2011 to an estimated $202,000.
