Missouri American Water Company and the Jefferson City Street Division have extended the street closure on Missouri Boulevard at the High Street Viaduct entrance ramp to continue repair work on water main that ruptured, Monday.

The street is now scheduled to reopen by noon Friday, weather and construction progress permitting.

Detour signs will be posted.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area during closure.

The line services the irrigation devices at state parking lots and streets in the area. No water to buildings in the area was affected.

Also, the city street division will have the north side of Whitney Woods closed between Green Meadows and Sarah Street for repairs, through 5 p.m. Sept. 2, weather and construction progress permitting.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area while the work is taking place.
