Lady Jays golf team opens with tourney

If the goal is to win tournaments, it just makes sense to start the season with one.

“Golf is tournaments, it’s not nine-hole matches,” Lady Jays coach Randy Bickel said as Jefferson City prepared for today’s (Monday) opener at the Warrensburg Invitational.

The Invitational, which begins at 9 a.m., is one of six tournaments on the Lady Jays’ schedule this year. The Lady Jays, while returning several veterans on their roster of 12, don’t have a senior eligible to play varsity.
