Mayor: City should run like business

Proposed budget puts more emphasis on needs of department heads

Official city budget discussions will begin Monday, with the new mayor presenting his proposals to the Jefferson City Council.

But with a new mayor, and several new council members, the budget process itself has been a little different this year.

Mayor Eric Struemph’s proposal incorporates many of the ideas from various department directors on what they view as needed for the city.
