Area Jamborees kick off new football season

High School football is back as Jamborees kick off across the area tonight.

Jefferson City travels to Hickman to take on the Kewpies, Liberty and Liberty North. Action is set to kickoff at 6 p.m.

Helias will take on Waynesville and Nixa at 6 p.m. in Waynesville. The Crusaders will sit out the first session, then face Nixa before ending with Waynesville.

Blair Oaks is hosting a six-team event at 6:30 p.m. at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

Blair Oaks, Moberly and Owensville will take on each other at one end of the field while Versailles, Tipton and Fulton will battle on the other.

The regular season begins next Friday with Helias taking on Harrisonville at 7 p.m. at Adkins Stadium. Blair Oaks is also home for a 7 p.m. kickoff against Carrollton.

The Jays begin their season at 1 p.m. Saturday at McCluer North.
