Your Opinion: Letter writers encouraged to offer solutions

Dear Editor:

"We need solutions not slogans." This advice was offered to politicians in a recent letter.

Similar advice could be offered to letter writers. Many people are quite skilled at stating problems. A lot of intelligent research goes into many letters.

This intelligent energy could be better directed. The mental energy directed toward railing about problems could be applied toward creating solutions.

I would like to issue a challenge to letter writers. Create positive endings. Yes, we may have problems. What are the solutions?

To quote W. Clement Stone, "Keep your mind on what you want and off what you don't want."
