Dear Editor:
What has happened to common sense in our nation's capital with the senators, representatives and administration?
They were elected to represent the people of our country. Most, not all, do not understand the very simple fact that no individual, family, business or government can year after year keep spending more money than they take in without ending up in bankruptcy.
Time is running our for ignoring of this simple fact. It will not end until a balanced budget amendment and term limits become law and the ever growing danger of the completely out-of-control cost of entitlements addressed.
None of this will happen until the tax-paying citizens of this country demand it. If we think what is happening now in several countries in Europe and South America cannot happen here we are making a fatal mistake.
Making this U-turn will not happen overnight but it must happen sooner rather than later before it is too late.
For right now a rock hard freeze on any spending increase of any kind for any reason must be put in place immediately in every federal agency with zero exceptions.
