INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tamika Catchings tied a career high with 32 points, surpassing 5,000 for her career, and the Indiana Fever beat the New York Liberty 82-71 on Saturday night.

Catchings became just the sixth player to reach 5,000 points when she made a jumper from near the free throw line late in the first quarter. Catchings also set a franchise record by making 17 free throws. She already became the league's career leader in steals earlier this season.

Tangela Smith added 10 points for the Fever (17-7), who have won seven of their past eight games. All but one of the wins have been by double digits. Cappie Pondexter scored 30 points and Essence Carson added 16 for New York (13-11), which has lost three of four.

Sun 82, Mystics 75

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Tina Charles and Renee Montgomery each scored 16 points to help Connecticut beat Washington.

Connecticut (15-8) held Washington scoreless for a 5-minute stretch in the fourth quarter.

Danielle McCray added 12 points for the Sun, and Kara Lawson had 10, including a late 3-pointer that gave Connecticut an 81-73 lead. Tan White had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Crystal Langhorne led the Mystics (5-16) with 17 points despite battling foul trouble. Langhorne missed all but 24 seconds of the third period when she was whistled for her fourth foul.

Dream 92, Storm 63

SEATTLE (AP) - Angel McCoughtry and Iziane Castro Marques each scored 17 points for Atlanta.

Lindsey Harding added 12 points for Atlanta (11-12), and Sancho Lyttle and Armintie Price had 10 apiece. The Dream hit their first three shots and finished at a season-high 58.8 percent (40 of 58).

Atlanta beat the Storm (13-10) for the second time in seven days in a rematch of the 2010 WNBA championship series, which Seattle swept in three games.

Katie Smith scored 15 points for the Storm (13-11).
