Jefferson City transit grant funds reduced
Saturday, August 13, 2011
Jefferson City's transit division is still unsure how recent grant reductions will affect the department, at least until the city budget has been approved.
Richard Turner, transit division director, said the department usually receives more than $68,000 in operating assistance from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. This year, that amount was drastically reduced to $9,845.
Turner said it remains to be seen what effect the shortfall will have ....

Mr Turner, apparently you don't see or understand (or have not been told by your supervisors what to say) that 1) services will be reduced; 2) user costs will increase; 3) both 1 and 2 will happen. If you are unable to see and explain that then I ask "why are you the director?" Perhaps the shortfall could be covered by the elimination of one or two positions -- the director and ????
