State Fair’s coming, rain or shine

It’s that time of year, when Sedalia’s population swells as Missourians (and some from neighboring states, as well) travel to the Missouri State Fair.

The annual salute to agriculture begins at 10 a.m. Thursday and runs through Aug. 22, with the theme “It’s A Show-Me Thing!”

“It seemed so fitting for the Show-Me State,” Fair Director Mark Wolfe said, “and it really fits in well with the fair and the exhibits and what everybody’s doing.”

But this year, the weather may be the most important discussion topic among many fairgoers.
