After nearly a decade, a band of fiddlers hopes to saw their way into the musical scene wth a contest Saturday at the Kingdom of Callaway County Fair.
The 6 p.m. contest revives a longtime fair tradition.
"I think people just missed it and wanted it to come back," fair board secretary Brenda McCray said of the decision to bring the fiddling contest back this year. "There were a lot of people that wanted us to bring it back, because the fiddlers' contest has been around for years - every fair, almost, has one."
One of those people who is looking forward to the return of the musical fair staple - even if he can't attend himself because of a previous obligation - is Fulton resident Bill Craighead.
