Voters pass extension of Jefferson City's half-cent capital improvements sales tax

Turnout greater than expected

Voters easily passed a renewal of Jefferson City's half-cent capital improvements sales tax.

Tuesday's unofficial final vote was 2145 in favor and 572 against.

That works out to 78% in favor and 21% against.

The voter turnout was 9.6%.

Cole County Clerk Marvin Register said he was pleasantly surprised that his prediction of a 4-5% voter turnout was beat.
