FAIR GROVE, Mo. (AP) - A 20-year-old Fair Grove woman has died after lightning apparently struck near her canoe on the Gasconade River.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol told KTTS that Lindsey Smith died at the scene Saturday in Pulaski County. Two men in the canoe with Smith were also hospitalized in stable condition.
It was unclear if Smith died from the lightning or if she drowned. An autopsy was planned.
