Second Christian Church camp uses basketball to help boys gain valuable lessons for life

Malcolm Lewis Griffin Jr. knows what it’s like to grow up without a positive role model. Despite what he calls a wild past, he’s become a role model himself, devoting his time to helping the youth of Jefferson City.

Now an elder at his church, Griffin has enlisted the help of his fellow elders and members of the community to host the first — hopefully annual — Second Christian Church Outreach Basketball Camp.

The camp is for boys ages 12-15 and will be held at the Rickman Center and area gymnasiums Aug. 9-11.
