Lincoln swept

HAYS, Kan. — Lincoln University’s chances for making the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association softball tournament took a hit Friday when the Blue Tigers dropped both halves of a doubleheader at Fort Hays State.

A total of eight teams qualify for the league’s tournament, held next week in Overland Park, Kan. Fort Hays entered Friday in seventh place in the standings, while Lincoln was in ninth.

After the Tigers notched 4-1 and 4-3 wins over the Blue Tigers, Fort Hays moved up to sixth and Lincoln stayed put at ninth.

The Blue Tigers will now have two even bigger games today at Washburn, as the Lady Blues are in the No. 8 spot in the standings, with just one win more than Lincoln.
