Capitol Drive and a portion of Broadway Street will close temporarily Friday to accommodate the 17th annual Earth Day celebration in Jefferson City.
Vehicle access to Capitol Circle Drive will be blocked from 6 a.m.-5 p.m. for safety purposes. Street parking along the east side of the 200 block of Broadway Street will be restricted.
Earth Day celebrations will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m. on the south lawn of the Capitol. Participation is free.
The event will feature interactive environment displays, educational games, entertainment and more. It is geared toward fifth-grade students, but is open to the public.
